Ball grinding mill is one of the important machines widely used in such industrial departments as ore beneficiation, building material, cement, coal, power and metallurgy. It has simple and firm structure, reliable operation and strong adaptability to the materials and is able to continuously run for long time, so that it is able to satisfy the needs of modern large-scale industrial production. As ball mills are various in types, it is advisable for the customers to know the types of grinding mills and their advantages and disadvantages to choose the most suitable type.
There are five classification methods for ball mill; here Hongxing Machinery will give a detailed introduction:
According to the shape of the grinding media, grinding mills can be divided into ball mill, rod mill, rod and ball mill and gravel mill. The grinding media of ball mill are mainly steel balls or steel rods, and ball mill has the widest application. The grinding media of rod mill are steel bar with the diameter of 50-100mm. Rod ball mill generally has 2-4 grinding cabins, and the first cabin is filled with cylindrical steel bars and the 2-4 cabins are filled with steel balls or steel rods. The grinding media of gravel mill are coble, gravel or porcelain ball, and gravel mill is mainly used for the production of ceramics, colored or white cement.
According to the transmission method, ball making equipment can be divided into center drive ball mill and peripheral drive ball mill. The motor of center drive ball mill drives the grinding cylinder to rotate through the reducer to drive the hollow shaft of the discharging end of the grinding mill, and the output shaft of the reduce is in the same straight line with the center line of the grinding mill. The motor of the peripheral drive ball mill drives the grinding cylinder to rotate through the reducer to drive the big gear wheel fixed on the cylinder of the discharging end.
According to the ratio of length and diameter of the cylinder, ball grinder can be divided into short ball mill machine, medium and long ball mill machine and long ball mill machine. The draw ratio of short ball mill machine is below 2, and it generally has only one cabin and is mainly used for coarse grinding or first-level grinding; the draw ratio of medium and long ball mill machine is about 3 and that of long ball mill machine is over 4 and it has wide application in cement plant.
According to the discharging method, ball mill can be divided into rear dump ball mill and central discharge ball mill. As for the rear dump ball mill, the materials are fed in from end and discharged from one end; as for central discharge ball mill, the materials are fed from the two ends of the grinding mill and discharged from the middle of the cylinder.
According to the technical operation, it can be divided into wet type, dry type, interval and continuous ball mill. Interval ball mill is seldom used and it is usually for the trial grinding in the test cabinet.
